State releases assessment results for 2024

The release showed some progress being made for our elementary students in language arts. The district results in math echo those at the state level, and show that improvement is needed.

The results give a percentage of students who took the tests who scored a level 3 or 4, which is considered "proficient." The test covers language arts and mathematics for grades 3-8, and for 11th grade. The science assessment is given to 5th, 8th, and 11th graders.

CSD Board calls for November Bond

Voters will be asked to approve $90 million to construct new school; improve safety and security; upgrade and improve facilities

The Central School District 13J Board of Directors approved a resolution and ballot title to place a $90 million bond on the November ballot. The motion passed unanimously after two hours of discussion at a special board meeting on Wednesday, August 14.

"This is what we should be doing in a district this size, with the debt that we currently have, in order to provide schools that are safe and attractive for kids to go to," Director Donn Wahl said after making the motion. "I think we have to remember that, in the state of Oregon, this is the only way we can improve our facilities," Wahl said. "We can't save up, we can't pay cash for it, so we have to (ask for a bond)."
