2024-25 SY Budget Committee Vacancies

Zones 1 ,4, 5, 6 and 7

The Central School District 13J, Board of Directors, is seeking candidates to serve on the Budget committee representing Zones 1 ,4, 5, 6 and 7. (See below) To be eligible, an applicant must live in the district in an open zone; not be an officer or employee of the district, and be a qualified voter of the district. If the Board does not receive qualified candidates from within a zone, an out-of-zone appointment may be made.

If interested, please submit a letter of interest to the School Board telling WHY YOU ARE INTERESTED in serving on the Budget Committee and WHAT QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE you feel you have to contribute to the budget committee process.  Also, please include best contact information and your zone of residence.

All applications MUST BE RECEIVED by March 22, 2024 @ 4:00 p.m.

The Board will review applicants and make appointments at their regular scheduled meeting to be held at 750 S. Fifth Street, Independence, OR.  For more information, please call 503-606-2251 or email pmcgahey@central.k12.or.us. The Budget Committee typically meets April-June of each year. Committee seat term is 3 years.

• Zone 1      Portion of the City of Independence north of Monmouth Street extended (within city limits only) (VACANT - term expires 06/30/26) 

• Zone 2     Portion of the City of Independence south of Monmouth Street extended (within city limits only) (SEAT FILLED - term expires 06/30/24)

• Zone 3     Portion of the City of Monmouth east of Pacific Highway (within the city limits only) (SEAT FILLED - term expires 06/30/24)

• Zone 4     Portion of the City of Monmouth west of Pacific Highway and north of Jackson Street (within the city limits only) (VACANT - term expires 06/30/25)

• Zone 5     Portion of the City of Monmouth west of Pacific Highway and south of Jackson Street (within the city limits only) (VACANT - term expires 06/30/25)

• Zone 6     Portion of the district in Polk County outside of the cities of Monmouth and Independence and north of Monmouth and Independence and the Monmouth-Falls City State Highway (VACANT - term expires 06/30/24)

• Zone 7     Portion of the District consisting of (a) that portion in Marion County, (b) that portion in Benton County, and (c) that portion of the District in Polk County outside of the cities of Monmouth and Independence and south of the Monmouth-Falls City State Highway. (VACANT - term expires 06/30/26)

(Description below) To be eligible, an applicant must live in the district in an open zone; not be an officer or employee of the district; and be a qualified voter of the district. If the Board does not receive qualified candidates from within a zone, an out-of-zone appointment may be made.
