Keep cellphones and other devices put away

We wanted to remind our students, staff, and families that cellphones and other personal electronic devices may not be used while at school.
According to board policy:
Personal electronic devices may be kept by students in lockers or backpacks, and may not be used during the regular school day (i.e in school bathrooms, classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, library, etc.).
Cellphones and other personal electronic devices may not be used from the start of the first bell of the school day until the last bell of the school day, with few exceptions.
This includes prohibiting use during on-campus lunch.

School starts Tuesday, Sept. 1 (that's tomorrow!)

K-5, 6th and 9th graders return Tuesday

We are looking forward to welcoming back students at our elementary schools tomorrow!
6th and 9th graders will get an opportunity to get to know their new schools (including lockers!) and teachers.
On Wednesday, September 2, all students will return to school, with no late start or early release.
Late start and early release will resume Wednesday September 9.

FOMO on school? Attendance matters!

Why is attendance important?

Your child's attendance matters to us because we care about your student's success!
If your child is well, it is important for them to attend classes. Students with solid attendance are more likely to be successful in school -- and after graduation. They are less likely to fall behind!

Feeling anxious about school?

The more your student attends school, the less anxious they may feel!
When students miss days, they may start to feel behind, which can increase anxiety about attending. When they attend school regularly, they create friendships and can keep on top of classwork, which can reduce anxiety.

Missed days add up quickly

Just two days a month puts a child's success in jeopardy, because students fall behind and disconnect.
It can be difficult to catch up. Students who regularly miss school can feel hopeless, and returning becomes harder and harder. It's important for students and families to work with school staff and attendance teams to troubleshoot issues that are keeping them away from school. it can make a difference immediately and for the long term!

Too sick for school?

Students will get sick at times, and may need to stay home!
But it's important to minimize the number of days your student misses school. Use this guide to determine if you should keep your student home from school because of illness.
