Welcome Mark Martens to CHS!

Mark Martens to start as Athletics Director/Assistant Principal

Central High School is pleased to welcome Mark Martens to lead Panther Nation as the new Athletics Director and Assistant Principal.

Mr. Martens started his career as an English teacher and coach at both the middle and high school levels. He has extensive experience as both an athletic director and associate principal at Tualatin, and Canby high schools, as well as West Linn. 

"I am dedicated in my leadership to create programs that provide excellent experiences for all students," Mr. Martens said. "I have a passion for connecting students to their school, and hope to get more students involved in athletics and activities at Central."

Principal Rick Dormer said he is excited to welcome Mr. Martens to the team.

"His years of experience in the classroom, in athletics, and in leadership will allow him to make an immediate, positive impact on our programs and students," Mr. Dormer said. "Mark takes pride in working hard and building relationships. He is a great fit on our Panther team."

Mr. Martens brings a reflective eye to the work being done in our programs and classrooms that will benefit all students. 

"I am excited to join the leadership team at Central," Mr. Martens said. "I am eager to create partnerships to improve practice and student outcomes." Mr. Martens and his family come from Canby, and enjoy the outdoors in their free time.
