Universal Screening for Social, Academic, and Emotional Risk in the Central School District:

The SAEBRS is a universal screening tool used to identify student behaviors that could indicate risk for social, academic and emotional struggles. The SAEBRS has a student-rater companion screener (MySAEBRS), which allows students in grades 2-12 to self-assess their own social, academic and emotional behavior.

The information collected from this screener is utilized by your student’s school to help teachers and specialists better understand student strengths and learning needs.

When the need for more targeted skill-building or support is identified for an individual student, the school will work collaboratively with the student’s parent/guardian to determine appropriate support for their student and will first obtain informed consent.

The SAEBRS is not being used to identify any mental health condition or illness. It is not being used to evaluate your student’s eligibility for any services under either a Section 504 Plan or an Individualized Education Program.
