This week celebrated and honored the dedicated teaching staff who serve our students, schools and district.

Teachers provide not only the teaching and learning to students, they are inspirations and motivators who change the lives of students each day. Their work and impact extends far beyond the boundaries in the classroom in supporting the development of the whole child.

The Central School Board read the Teacher Appreciation resolution below into the record to acknowledge the contributions of our teaching staff this past Monday, May 7, 2018.

WHEREAS, teachers mold future citizens through guidance and education; and

WHEREAS, teachers encounter students of widely differing backgrounds; and

WHEREAS, our country’s future depends upon providing quality education to all students; and

WHEREAS, teachers spend countless hours preparing lessons, evaluating progress, counseling and coaching students and performing community service; and

WHEREAS, our community recognizes and
supports its teachers in educating the children of this community.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Central 13J Board of Directors proclaims May 7-11, 2018 to be TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Central 13J Board of Directors strongly encourages all members of our community to join with it in personally expressing appreciation to our teachers for their dedication and devotion to their work.

Adopted this 7th day of May, 2018.

Ashley Wildfang, Principal of Ash Creek Elementary states, “I am so thankful for our Ash Creek teachers! Our teachers are dedicated, caring and hardworking professionals that put the needs of students first. I believe that teaching is the most amazingly wonderful and also challenging profession a person can dedicate their lives to. Our students are thriving as a result of their love and support! Thank you Ash Creek teachers!”

“One of my favorite quotes is the last line from a story in the book Chicken Soup for the Soul. It a story about a teacher and a group of students that learn to play chess and then translate that success to school in this statement from a young man. "Not until Mr. Hall thought we were smart and then we were." It resonates with me that teachers who build strong relationships with students and believe in their abilities can work everyday miracles. Thank you to all of our Central School District miracle teachers,” states Assistant Superintendent Rich McFarland.

“Central High School Teachers are devoted, highly educated and professional people. They are all dedicated to the students they serve and are focused on providing them with an outstanding education. Our teachers often come early and stay late, typically serving about 150 students every day. These professionals love their career and know that educating our youth is the future. Teachers are helping to create a path for young people to lead our society in a positive direction. Central High School teachers are excellent!“ proclaims Jann Jobe, Principal of Central High School.

Superintendent Kubista states, “Teachers are integral to the success of Central School District 13J. Their connections to students, parents, other district staff, and the community allow us to learn, grow, live, work and lead together. I continue to learn from them and grow each and every day since my arrival to Central School District. Thank you for your dedication and support in developing the whole child through teaching and learning.”

“Mom, I want to go to school to see my teacher. I miss her every night,” stated a kindergarten student from Monmouth Elementary. Furthermore, as Principal Kim Seidel from Monmouth Elementary shared so eloquently, "We may not remember everything you taught, but we will remember how special you made us feel."

Thank you Central School District 13j Teachers!
