Parents and guardians of a student in Central School District who is receiving Federal Title I funds, has the right to know the qualifications of the classroom teachers who instruct your child, and statistical information about your child's school.
Federal law allows you to ask for certain information about your child's teacher and requires the school to give you this information in a timely manner, if you ask for it.
You have the right to request the following:
* Whether the teacherr has met Oregon Dept of Education qualifications and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas he or she teacher;
* Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which the Oregon Dept of Education qualification or licensing criteria have been waived;
* The teacher's college major; whether the teacher has any advanced degrees, an if so, the subject of the degrees; and
* If your child receives services from any instructional assistant or paraprofessionals and whether or not they are certified as 'highly qualified.'
